Un avant-goût du renouveau organistique
de la Cathédrale américaine de Paris
Nous vous invitons le temps d'une journée à visiter nos atelier, pour voir avant son montage déjà une partie de l'orgue de la Cathédrale Américaine de Paris qui rejoindra la nef de l'édifice néogothique situé sur la célèbre Avenue George V à la fin du mois de février.
Notre atelier se situe :

Cet instrument que nous réalisons conjointement avec la manufacture Klais Orgelbau sera unique de par sa taille et sa disposition ; il comportera 94 jeux pour 111 registres répartis sur 11 plans sonores, disposé à 6 endroits différents d'un bout à l'autre de la cathédrale (sous la verrière ouest, dans les arches de la 2ème travée, dans les arches des travées du chœur au-dessus des stalles et dans l'espace originellement dédié à l'orgue, au-dessus de la chapelle sud-est).
Parmi les plus grands orgues de France, sa conception dans la lignée à la fois de Cavaillé-Coll qui construisit l'orgue de la cathédrale américaine en 1887 et de la tradition anglicane (orgue placé dans le chœur, culte donnant une grande importance à la musique et au chant tant choral que d'assemblée), il sera une source pour lier la tradition et l'expérimentation sonore grâce à un "effet surround" naturel créé par la disposition physique des parties instrumentales).
L'occasion aussi de (re)découvrir le métier de facteur d'orgues, et de se rencontrer dans un moment de convivialité.

We invite you to spend a day visiting our workshops to discover the first part of the organ of the American Cathedral of Paris. At the end of February, it will join the nave of the neo-Gothic building located on the famous Avenue George V.
This instrument that we build together with the workshop of Klais Orgelbau is unique in its size and layout, with its 94 stops for 111 registers distributed across eleven divisions, arranged in six locations from one end of the cathedral to the other (beneath the west rose window, in the arches of the 2nd bay, in the arches of the choir bays above the stalls, and in the organ chamber, above the southeast chapel).
Among the largest organs in France, its design—drawing both on the legacy of Cavaillé-Coll (who first built the organ of the American Cathedral in 1887) and on the Anglican tradition (with the organ placed in the choir and a form of worship that gives great importance to music and singing, both choral and congregational)—will make it possible to link tradition with sound and musical experimentation thanks to a natural “surround effect” created by the physical layout of the organ cases and pipework.
It will also be an opportunity to (re)discover the craft of the organ builder and to meet one another in a convivial atmosphere.
